Mobile Doctors participated in the World Stroke Day event hosted by the Port Moresby General Hospital (PMGH) Stroke Unit. The PMGH Stroke Unit is making significant progress in enhancing the quality of stroke care in PNG, aiming to build a high-quality tertiary stroke care ecosystem. Their focus is on ensuring all components work seamlessly to meet critical timelines for brain-saving interventions.

Professor Sir Isi Kevau emphasized that 90% of strokes are preventable, with hypertension and atrial fibrillation management being top prevention priorities. Senior Neuro-Physiotherapist Ms. Debbie Meko highlighted the importance of stroke rehabilitation and introduced the Stroke Riskometer App—a tool to assess stroke risk.

To understand your 5-10 year stroke risk, download the Stroke Riskometer from Google Play. For high-risk results, visit us at Skyview Medical Centre to help you manage your risk factors effectively.
